The flock made the best of it this week as temperatures rose just enough to cause flooding, then plummeted to record-breaking lows. Someone tell me spring is just around the corner?

White Crested Black Polish hen and White Orpington hen
Snow chickens
Dust bathing chickens

There was flooding outside the coop, but the sand was mighty fine for dust bathing!

Partridge Cochin hen getting a bath

Not everyone had the luxury of a dust bath, however. Bertha, our new Partridge Cochin who is still in quarantine, needed a good ol’ water bath. She doesn’t look like she enjoyed it, but trust me, she did!

Chicken conga line.
The Snow Trail to nowhere.
Chickens in the snow.
There has been enough togetherness for the flock this winter and they’re looking forward to getting more distance in between them, that is, if the snow ever goes away.
Digging out the snow around the chicken coop.
Mr. Chicken Chick helped me dig out around the coops a bit so that the run didn’t flood when the snow melted.
Speckled Sussex and Marans hens.
Iris (Olive Egger hen) has been taking posing pointers from Rachel.
Basket of Eggs
Despite the miserable conditions outside, the ladies are producing eggs like champs!
I added some Friday to your coffee. You're welcome.
Tolbunt Polish Frizzle hen. I am not a princess, I am THE Princess. (Tolbunt Polish Frizzle hen)
Just waiting to see if my coffee chooses to use its powers for good or evil today.
Coffee Ready Yet? (Tolbunt Polish Frizzle hen)
Cockadoodle BREW! (Serama cockerel)
Olive Egger hen
Black Copper Marans hen.
There's only one thing I hate more than lying...DECAF, which is water lying about being coffee.
If it requires pants or a bra, it's not happening today. (Tolbunt Polish Frizzle hen_------)
Take it again- I blinked. (Tolbunt Polish Frizzle hen)
