Flock Focus Friday, 10/17/14

There is a flower farm up the street from us that grows the most amazing dahlias and while I shared these on Facebook already, I think their beauty bears re-sharing.

  117. Adopted a bunny from the SPCA today. Chello is his name and he is now living in the small coop we have in our big coop. We used the small coop as the nursery when we introduced this years girls with the older ones. Since our 14 girls are all living together and they no longer use the little coop, I thought it would be a perfect house for a bunny. Well, 12 of the girls headed to bed at their usual time, but our two buffs stayed outside clucking like the sky was falling. After herding them into the coop, and putting the one who was really cackling on the roost, they finally settled down. Hopefully tomorrow they will see that what they are thinking is a predator, is only a sweet bunny. Love your blogs!

No chickens here, but I enjoy your page greatly! (Without chickens, I normally pass on your giveaways, but I realized how much the wild birds I feed would enjoy some mealworms... though I suppose that if I *did* win, I'd be starting a habit there... hmmm.)

I used to raise mealworms but takes lots of space and lots of trouble. Rather buy them or win them.

Mealworms in oatmeal. Breakfast of the Feathered Pigs that live here on those cold winter mornings heading our way! They actually 'purr' while eating :-)
