  29. Hi Kathy-- Hope you had a great weekend, with some free time for yourself. We were told by the fair judge that we had a few very high quality hens and roo- and he suggested we propagate some chicks from them- sure would be easier if we were to win a Brinsea mini incubator!! Love to the chick sister

  30. Thank you for this opportunity! Would love to try hatching eggs at home. Last summer my smallest hen hatched two eggs after her third attempt. The first baby didn't make more than one day and the second ended up being a rooster that fought with the rooster I have. Thankfully I have a family friend that was looking to start her own flock and she gladly took our new rooster. This summer two of my hens sat on eggs but never hatched anything. :(

  38. Great prize. I would love to win it, but I enjoy reading your blog more. Need advice, my youngest two granddaughter's have come up with the idea that all brown eggs are fertilized, so now refuse to eat them. They got this from someone from their dad's family. I think it was made as a joke, but they took it seriously, and now 'protesting' the killing of baby chicks. They are 7&9. It started with the question 'Ve did you know three was a bayby inside?' The answer was, All brown eggs have babies inside.' It was another child that answered, so I can't kick them for it. They were watching babies hatch, at the time. Do you know of any DVD's, that explain this?
