I would love to win one! I have been using a brooder lamp and to my horror, my 6 yr old son nearly caught the house and himself on fire with it. I was outside and his 16 yr old sister was watching him. Next thing I know, they come screaming outside for me. He had taken a plastic water bottle and melted it against the bulb and it started smoldering. I live in a log home, it could have easily become a disaster.

Last time I had eggs int he 'bator the heat lamp for my brooder quit, so I took all the babies to a neighbor whose lamp was in functioning order and let her keep them. If I had the Brinsea the baby birds would be here at our place.

  189. Moira McGarry9/8/14, 11:51 AM

I would absolutely LOVE to win this one! The 'antiquated' heat lamps we sell at my work scare the living daylights out of me, and its what kept me from getting chicks last year

  190. Dawn Hansen Bryant9/8/14, 11:51 AM

Wow, the Brinsea has been highly recommended by many of my chicken forum friends, but they are SO far out of my budget that I just laugh ( so I don't cry). To win a Brinsea would be totally awesome! We are a family of four struggling to make ends meet and the more I can raise to eat on my five sandy little acres the better. 😯

How awesome. Id love to try it! Last year i had a lamp fall and thankfully stop working but all my chicks where dead in the am :-( i mean we keep ours in the house to help but we dont have a heater we just kinda suffer through the winter ( in tx so its not as awful ad up north. Just tryin to reduce our carbon footprint. In the winter with no heater we can knock our electric to next to nothin! Summer makes up for it thoufh!)
