Caesar is a Serama rooster
This week has been rooster-centric for some reason. I’ve taken more than a few frame-worth shots of Blaze, Caesar and the P. Allen Smith roolets and wrote an article I have long intended to write on chicken mating. Rooster reproductive anatomy became a shocking subject of conversation at my sister’s house during Easter dinner (don’t ask) and I knew that if my family had such confusion over and questions about chicken sex, lots of others probably did too! If you missed that article, feel free to catch up with it here! Beyond that, the weather has been perfect for anything outdoors and I hope you enjoy some of the photos I shot while taking advantage of it!

Freida, my only Silkie, has been broody and sitting on these eggs since this photo was taken on June 9th- the eggs should hatch on or about Monday!

I drink coffee for your protection.
I will be amused AFTER my coffee.
Of course it's Monday, this ain't my Friday face.
I've begun drinking coffee on Sunday nights in anticipation of Monday mornings.
Coffee ready yet?
Make no eye contact and she'll never suspect a thing.

My ladies (and I'm sure my gentlemen) would love to have more of the Manna Pro! Our 18 little ladies and 1 gentleman have now grown to over 63 strong! My girls have been busy and obviously…. so has the gentleman! 🙂

Would do just about anything to never have to deal with this. It looks so nasty. Would also love to win the package.

Your comments about sand are wrong. Play sand is washed to remove organic material just like all other sand. There IS no danger from any sikica based diseases from any sand unless you stuff it down the animals throat. ALL sand is quarried either from rivers, lakes, pits, and beaches. With the exceptions of coral "sand" and volcanic "sand", ALL sand is silicon dioxide. Please stop spreading misinformation about sands, Ask any geologist!
