There was one lonely Ameraucana at the feed store, and oh how I wanted to bring her home, but hubby had an absolute 'not going to add another' tone in his voice! Our 6 week old chicks are tucked away for the night (all 16 of them), and I am ready for a lovely stem of Zinfandel red wine!

All those pics are just too cute!!! I love the different combs/feathers that they are sporting. I am moving and going to decorate my kitchen in rustic country farmhouse theme and I would love to have a cute egg basket to grace my counter or my farmhouse table (going in dining room!).

I love the egg basket. My hens and ducks have blessed us this Spring with 18 plus eggs a day. I could use the egg basket.

  171. Hi Kathy! I have a problem with egg-eaters. I have 15 girls and I only get 4-10 eggs a day(usually covered in a yolkie mess). What are the best ways to stop this behavior?

Before we had backyard chickens, I decorated my kitchen with a chicken theme, complete with chicken wallpaper border and chicken footprints running all over the walls. It looks just like the prints in our cement porch post.
In the wallpaper border there is a wire basket of eggs. I've been looking for one to go with it. At first I was going to put plastic eggs inside. A decade later, I have a coop and run in the backyard! Now we could put real eggs collected from our own hens in it.
