    Kathy,
Thank you for hosting. There's a definite nip in the air this morning, and I'm glad to have spent the overnight making vegetable stock for today's soup. (It's going to have beets in it, wish me luck with my kids)
Today I'm linking up a savory butternut squash soaked oat muffin, a white chicken leek pizza on a sweet potato crust, and some tasty Special Dark chocolate pumpkin coconut bars.
I'm sorry I don't have a photo of the latter--it was one of those 'pull it out of the oven and take it to the concert and cut it after the music' occasions, so instead of the finished product you get to see my kids when they were little and cute.
    :)

Can chickens catch a common cold from being outside in the rain? My dozen girls seem to enjoy the rain. It rained all weekend and they continued to free range outside of the coop the entire time. At night when I went to close the coop up, I noticed their feathers were soaked. Should I keep them cooped up on bad weather days or are they ok?

Boy could I use this book, fairly new to the chickie's I have 4 Serama's, 2 SL Seabright's, 2 Silkie's and I just got my first big chicken today. She's an Americana hen, I got her from Free Rangers Farm at the Marion Market outside of Ocala FL. I was not planning on getting one of those but the old man started talking to her and he called her Dorothy so that was it he named her I had to bring her home. :)
I've been trying to hold out on getting my big girls til I could find some BLR Wyandotte's and Lavender Orpington's.
But it's soooo hard I want 1 or 2 of everything I see
One of my first babies (a black silkie) I named Crack after a character in a book and it's so fitting because GOD I am addicted.....
I can't wait to get a shed so I can have a walk in coop....
I absolutely love your blog and page, it's the first thing I check when I get on FB....
