  12. I now have a bottle of Vetericyn after reading about it on your blog. I have been using it on my dogs, also. Great stuff!
I've been giving frozen watermelon to my flock - two roosters and a lot of hens, to keep them cool. So hot here in Maryland. At least we have a lot of shade and a nice dry area for a dirt bath. Keeping my eye out for distress. Working on getting sand for our coop - best idea yet. Stay cool and thanks!

I have a sign in my garden by my coop, it says "Gone To Therapy"....how true that is. Tending my chickens is great therapy and so much easier with your advice and ideas.

  14. Hi, there. I found you via Call me PMc's list of link parties. You have such a clever and unique topic for a blog. Talk about a niche :)

My dad raises chickens and we haven't bought eggs for over a year, because he keeps us supplied.

    Kathy,
Thank you for hosting! I'm linking up some more ways to enjoy the seasonal veggies from my garden and CSA farm share box.
I've got a simple raw Fast Fresh Tomato sauce that comes together in a flash and gets better the longer it sits, delicious over pasta or polenta, or even scooped up on a chip if you don't even want to turn on the stove.
I'm sharing a Buffalo Chicken, Spring Onion, and Celery Leaves on a Buttermilk Pesto Pizza dough--taking care of goodies straight from the garden as well as the last of the put up pesto.
Lastly, I'm sharing a Pick A Veggie Sushi Roll tutorial. We like to eat sushi when it's hot out, and I've been combining many kinds of protein, many kinds of veggies, and rolling up everything from gyro sushi to roasted chicken and asparagus.
    Have a fun week!

I would love to win a Vetericyn Wound & Infection Prize Package. I was lucky enough to find a good vet when one of my chickens got sick a couple months ago, but I should be prepared for immediate emergencies. I love my chickens so much that I can't believe I haven't prepared an emergency kit. Thank you for this opportunity and for your excellent blog.
