  9. Thanks for hosting! I have a chicken question for you. A friend gave us some eggs that he thought were fertile. We put them in the incubator (first time to use it) and we now have 9 chicks. But 3 of them are having trouble walking. Their feet seem to be huge and they keep coming up above their wings. The chicks are kind of scooting around on their abdomen - if that makes any sense. They were born on Saturday. I kept thinking it would work itself out but now I'm not sure. Any ideas?

I wonder if my chickens would even eat the Salad from the kit >.> so far they really only like grass seed, tomato leaves, and to attack the danglers from my hanging strawberry plants (they just started this last night). Thank you for all the great giveaways! :)

Many thanks to your knowledge sharing. I'm a newbie trying to be a good chicken Mama. I love gadgets and info to better my passions. My chickens are benefiting from your first aid kit information etc. I've turned in to a chicken addict it seems with a stack of books on my nightstand and have infected my husband, co-workers and the patients in my care lol. I may have to wait and wish list some ideas, but others are already in place. Truly thanks for all you do and share.

Thanks for the ideas. It was a Hot day in Georgia so I set up a mister for the chickens. They did not know what to make of it and only Bossy my lead hen ventured over a couple of times. Bella my GS is modeling the new chick playpen I built today making use of an old feed bag for a sun and rain guard. :) Thanks for the ideas.

Love the giveaways and your blog.
Quick question, I am trying to introduce my 6 week old chicks to my 1 year old hens and it is not going well. First I put the juveniles in a rabbit cage in the coop for about a week, then I left them out of the cage over night co-mingling with the adult hens. In the morning there was some squabbling because the youngsters want to sleep in the nesting boxes and the big girls want to lay there eggs in whatever box the youngsters are in! So I separate them in the morning and let them co-mingle after egg laying was done. We were supervising as much as possible and there was some chasing and pecking but seemed to be going ok until yesterday. One of the young Buffs got her butt pecked pretty bad, so now I am back to keeping them separated again. Any advice?
    Thanks, Cin
