    Kathy,
I'm happy to say my CSA farm share has been flooding my fridge with greens, and I'm sharing a couple of recipes for how to enjoy them today. My current lunch obsession is sauteed beet greens with spring onions, and I top it with a sunny side up fresh egg . . . man that is good eating!
A green that it's harder for me to scarf right up is kale, and I figured out a way to make a basic kale pizza dough that the kids gobbled right up. I share the step by step tutorial with you and your readers.

One of the easiest things to eat, from the spring farm share box, is strawberries. My favorite way is to dunk a fresh berry in sour cream and then brown sugar, but I thought I'd turn that into a whole grain muffin just for kicks. Since the varmints are leaving some strawberries in our backyard patch for my daughter to harvest, we're putting up berries and will also enjoy this muffin in the winter.
    Thanks for hosting!

  78. This is another week of great posts! Besides reading about gardens, pasture animals, recipes and such, I really like reading about chickens because we will be getting some next spring! My favorite post, by far, was the one about the chicken with harness and leash! I laughed so hard - it made my day! I added one about the garden in our backyard. I would love to win either prize, but since we don't have chickens yet, the soap would be more appropriate at this time! Have a great week! Vickie

I definitely could use this give away, My girls have their coop with just a hen house. I have yet to put in their nesting boxes because well I am just worried on how well it will come out. This would make it so much easier to install then to build when I am not that good with wood work. I have to wing whatever I do. So I really hope I win this one. And if I do then I would also like to know where I can buy one more since I have six chics I would want two for them so the are not waiting to lay eggs. I use your information and all that you post to do everything for my chickens. I am a first time owner of six, 2 buf orpingtons 2 rhode island reds and 2 easter eggers and I that they were americanas until I saw your posting and pictures.

  162. I don't know how I ever lived before I got my girls. it has been a fun road traveled from raising my first chicks to getting my first eggs. Your blog has been helpful for those occasional bumps in the road. Thank you!

  163. My sister and I have wanted to try the nest boxes. On a limited income makes it hard to invest in something that they might not like.

  166. What a pretty basket, although with only one hen old enough to lay, I wouldn't need it for a little while more! And since the 4 owls moved into a tree in my back yard, poor Rosie, my one layer, has been holding back on the eggs!

You recently had plans for a chicken feeder made of 4" PVC which would cut down on waste. I believe it was shared from one of your Blog Hoppers. I've lost it! I really want to make one. Can you help me retrieve it?
Thanks from a faithful & grateful reader.

  169. I've been wanting to tell you for a long time: I discovered your articles before I got my chix last year. Your writing is wonderful and so-ooo-oo informative. A day without The Chicken Chick would be very sad for me. FYI: Most people sit in their chair and watch ABC-tv, CBS-tv or others. For the highest entertainment value, I sit in my yard swing and watch CKN-tv! I can tell that you do, too. I love my chix! Please, keep the good articles coming. PS: My Jewelry Socks are a great hit! I've added many pairs to my Granny Hope Chest. Latest projects are PVC feeders and grit/oyster shell dispensers for my girls and copies for a senior friend. Luv ya!

Your right, not sure neighbors would tolerate any more and would hate to have to part with any. Working on moving to the country so I can expand, I'm sure once I get started I won't be able to stop. In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy your flock they are so relaxing to watch.
