I am sharing the following excerpts from two blogs, RaisingJane, and MaryJane's Farm because the problem of cyberbullying is so eloquently described in them:"Cyberbullying is the newest modern-day, cowardly behavior to impact our lives via popular social media forums...Teens aren’t the only group affected by cyber harassment. Adults are being specifically targeted as well, often facing cruel and negative comments left on blogs and Facebook pages by cyberbullies.
Cyberbullying has been defined by The National Crime Prevention Council: “when the Internet, cell phones, or other devices are used to send or post text or images intended to hurt or embarrass another person. Our Internet highways should be free and clear of this kind of negativity. Disagreements can’t be avoided, but respect is a choice. The Internet has made it far too easy for people to sit back in the safety and privacy of their own homes and gleefully and crudely shoot someone else down. Is it a power trip? Under-confidence? Jealousy? (I think this is the most common reason.) ”
Having been the target of cyberbullying and internet harassment for the past year, I think it's important to take a stand against it and I invite you to join me in adding the Sisters Against Cyberbullying button to the sidebar of your blog .
